Research and public affairs
The GTA Integrity Institute Hungary has a dual mission.
On one hand, it is a civil rights organization and public charity, dedicated to protecting fundamental and human rights through legal action and public advocacy. On the other, it serves as a think tank, fostering research and dialogue on integrity and justice.
We support those persecuted for their opinions, those disillusioned by the justice system, and those discriminated against for their honesty. Our goal is to promote transparency and shed light on what often remains hidden behind the scenes.
Who We Are
We like to think of ourselves as the neighborhood café for integrity professionals — with a workshop attached.
If, as a member, all you want is to relax in the café, that’s perfectly fine. We’re glad to have you. The café is where people share experiences, swap tips, and simply enjoy each other’s company.
But there’s more. Our workshop (think tank) often drops by with new ideas, projects you might want to join, or questions worth discussing.
One important note: members join as individuals. You are not here as a delegate of your employer, and your membership stays with you even if you change jobs or career paths.
What We Do
Our main areas of activity include:
Defending the rule of law and democracy in the Western hemisphere
Protecting whistleblowers and other reporting persons in Hungary
Monitoring civil society in Europe
Promoting the public good through due diligence, reports, and recommendations
Uncovering hidden or falsified facts
The Community
When the GTA Integrity Institute was founded, most members came from the scientific world. Today, we bring together professionals from many fields — lawmaking, inspection, law enforcement, engineering, prosecution, advocacy, and the judiciary — representing a wide variety of organisations, roles, and experience levels.
Here, researchers, engineers, operations staff, and project managers all stand on equal footing. What unites us is not job title, but commitment to integrity.
We look out for each other. That means cooperation, kindness, empathy, and honesty.
